Four local organizations were awarded a total of $256,916 in COVID-19 Cultural & Museum Preservation Grants by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), according to Senator Dan Laughlin.
The COVID-19 Cultural and Museum Preservation Grant Program was created to provide grants to cultural organizations and museums that experienced a loss of revenue from a closure mandated by the proclamation of disaster emergency by the Governor.
The local organizations receiving grants are:
- Erie Zoological Society, $125,052.
- Erie Philharmonic Orchestra, $63,179.
- Erie Playhouse, $43,685.
- expERIEnce Children’s Museum, $25,000
“These grants provide essential support for these organizations as they continue to be adversely impacted by COVID-19 pandemic,” said Senator Laughlin. “These four organizations may have diverse missions and clientele, but together they are part of what makes Erie such a special community. It is important that Pennsylvania take all appropriate and necessary steps to ensure that they can continue to be a part of our lives.”
The CFA was established as an independent agency of the Commonwealth to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages. The CFA holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.
