Senator Dan Laughlin led the Pennsylvania State Senate in a ceremony on Monday (June 19) to honor the life and legacy of former Senator William G. Sesler, who passed away on May 22 at the age of 89.
Senator Sesler served three terms in the Pennsylvania State Senate, representing the 49th District, from 1961 through 1972. He served as Assistant Majority Leader in the chamber before leaving politics to pursue his law and real estate careers in Erie.
Senator Laughlin detailed Senator Sesler’s accomplishments as a member of the Senate and his heroic military service during the Korean War for his service as a First Lieutenant with a United States Air Force Special Forces unit.
“In addition to his government and military service, Senator Sesler was a true civic leader as well — one who displayed a deep and passionate concern for the welfare of all members of the Erie community,” Senator Laughlin said.
