Gannon University Receives $40,000 to Combat Campus Sexual Assault

HARRISBURG – Sen. Dan Laughlin (R-49) today announced Gannon University has received a $40,000 It’s On Us PA grant to help combat sexual assault on campus.

“We all can play a role in ending sexual assault,” said Laughlin. “This funding will help prevent sexual violence from being part of the college experience and education of every Gannon student.”

Since 2016, nearly $8.7 million in It’s On Us PA grants have gone to 100 post-secondary institutions across the state, including public and private two-year and four-year colleges and universities.

The funding is used to advance the goals of recognizing non-consensual sex is sexual assault; identifying situations in which sexual assault may occur; intervening in situations where consent has not or cannot be given; and creating an environment in which sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported.
