The Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania was recently awarded a $50,000 Veteran Trust Fund Grant by the state Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), according to Senator Dan Laughlin.
Veteran Trust Fund Grants are supported by Pennsylvanians who voluntarily make a $3 donation when applying for or renewing their driver’s license or photo ID and renewing a motor vehicle registration and by the proceeds from the sale of the “Honoring Our Veterans” license plate, as well as through private donations.
“Second Harvest Food Bank provides a vital service to our community, especially during these trying times as we address the many issues created by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Senator Laughlin said. “I applaud and thank the DMVA for providing this important funding to support Second Harvest in its efforts to assist many area individuals and families.”
